Canada FTW!

it's been a while (so much for once a week) since my last post so what perfect topic to discuss than the Olympics!?

Usually I'm not that into sports except for hockey and the occasional football and curling game. yes i like curling, it's awesome! what is not to like? it's like bowling on ice! but when the Olympics come on i can't help but get excited. it must come from some inherent need to watch Canadians beat everyone at everything if only to show how incredibly awesome we are!! i only look forward to the winter Olympics though, i don't really get excited about the summer Olympics except for the equestrian sports.

anyways, so I've been watching it when I'm not working and so far we're doing OK. i know that realistically we can't win all of the gold medals but it'd be nice if we could at least come into the top 10. last night though i was excited to see the men's half pipe final for snowboarding and wow was it good! Shaun White did not disappoint. i know that he is from the U.S of A, but man o man i wish i could do some of the tricks he can, boy has got some serious skills!

I'm excited about tonight's hockey game, hopefully it will be good. Really the only medal that counts when it comes to the Olympic winter games is hockey, it is after all our sport. last time in Turin it was just embarrassing. this year we better at least win bronze or else i think the players might actually be disowned by the country. my mom doesn't think we will win, she believes that the Russians are going to take gold (she's a traitor and i have exiled her accordingly). I've been watching the women's hockey team too but i can't sit through an entire game. we've just dominated the other teams we've played, killing then on the scoreboard. it's not very entertaining, mostly because i feel sorry for the other team.

one think I'd like to mention before i stop blabbing; why the hell is figure skating considered a sport?!?!? i mean it is essentially dancing on ice. i know that triple and quadruple axles are hard as well as other technical things that i don't know names for but seriously? i think that if figure skating is considered a winter Olympics sport then shouldn't dancing be considered for the summer Olympics? So You Think You Can Dance is amazing and they train their butts off to really bring it when they perform on stage, how is that any different than figure skating?

*waves Canadian flag dramatically*
